Lifestyle Building Group (Pty) Ltd and Lifestyle House Makeovers (Pty) Ltd, are building and construction companies since 1983.
We are Johannesburg-, Sandton-, Centurion- and Pretoria-East-based contractors specialising in residential-, luxury house building, new house building with up-market finishes, house renovation, building alterations, home improvement and house makeovers divisions.
As a building contractor with bricklayer teams, we are NHBRC registered with code 25 building and construction certification, thus building to strict NHBRC – master builders’ specifications. (As required for luxury house buildings, duplexes, simplexes, townhouses, cluster houses, greenhouse buildings, modern lodges, garden flats, cottage buildings, granny flats and apartment rooms.)

About the Founder
— JEVON VAN WYK
As a teenager, JeVon van Wyk was often involved with building Projects and developed the intense desire to build his own home without the help of a Builder or a House Building Company. This came to fulfillment in 1971 when he bought himself a stand and registered himself as an Owner Builder at the Local Town Council Office in Henley-on-Klip and started to build his very first house on his own and without the help of a Builder.
In 1983 he invested in a Construction Company, backed by various contracts and founded the Lifestyle Building Group, which focused on the Project Management of Turnkey Projects in both the Residential and Corporate Markets.
As JeVon entered retirement Thomas de Vries took over.
About the Owner
— THOMAS DE VRIES
In 2022 Lifestyle Building Group received a makeover with a new owner handpicked by JeVon and a “renovated” look.
Thomas de Vries did his conscription from 1978 to 1979, after which he did his apprenticeship in carpentry from 1980 to 1984. He was a carpenter at Bloemfontein city council from 1984 to 1987, and at the University of the Orange Freestate from 1987 to 1988. He also worked as a building inspector at Midrand City Council for the following seven years.
The formula of his success is based on hands-on Management, supported by a philosophy of encouraging his Employees on a “do it right the first time” basis. Obtaining the order and sub-structure supports what must be achieved to satisfy the client and complete the project within budget.
